Joomla! Weblinks component

Simon Grange.

The Weblinks component allows you to create lists of links that can link to your partners' or friends' sites for example. Once created, you can display these lists on your site via a module or via a menu item.

To access the Weblinks component, select Components (1) → Weblinks (2).

Weblinks via a menu item

The Weblinks component offers 3 different types of menu items.

List All Weblink Categories

It displays all the weblinks of all your categories. You can select a root category and the menu item will display all the links belonging to this category as well as those belonging to the child categories.

In the advanced options tab, you will find all the parameters of the Weblinks component. These parameters are set to Use Global (the component's parameters). If you decide to change one of these parameters, this setting will affect this menu item only.

List Weblinks in a Category

It only displays the weblinks of one specific category. You select a category and the menu item will show all weblinks belonging to this category.

In the advanced options tab, you will find all the parameters of the Weblinks component. These parameters are set to Use Global (the component's parameters). If you decide to change one of these parameters, this setting will affect this menu item only.

Submit a Weblink

This menu item enables the site's users to submit their weblinks via a form:
